RE:  IMPORTANT CHANGES TO YOUR SUPPLEMENTAL BENEFITS

 

Dear Brothers and Sisters who are Wellfleet Insurance Policyholders,

Your UFCW Local has worked with your supplemental benefits provider, The Forza Insurance Group, to select the best NEW plans for 2024.  We are excited that our 2 trusted carrier partners, ManhattanLife and Allstate, will be including Accident, Critical Illness, and Hospital Indemnity plans to replace your Wellfleet plans.  With these partners Forza can guarantee, if you have not already experienced, great policyholder care and a simple claims process!

You are receiving this letter since you currently have one or more of the plans that will transition from Wellfleet Insurance to ManhattanLife or Allstate on April 1, 2024.

How much does the new coverage cost?

Your UFCW Local, in coordination with Forza and their carrier partners, have worked together to create robust plans with enhanced levels of coverage without any change in deduction.

Your new ManhattanLife Accident plan will now:

• Include a new $1500 Rehabilitation Admission benefit
• More than double your ICU admission and daily confinement benefits
• Increase hospitalization admission and daily confinement benefits
• Double your x-ray benefit
• Increase accidental death and dismemberment benefits by 25% or more
• Plus, too many others to list!

Your new ManhattanLife Critical Illness plan will now:

• Allow a higher maximum member coverage amount
• Allow a higher maximum spouse coverage amount
• Increase Bone marrow/stem cell coverage by 75%

Your new Allstate Hospital Indemnity Plan will now:

• Include covered admission to either a hospital or residential treatment facility for mental and/or nervous disorder treatment
• Include Walmart Health Virtual Care Behavior Health Services, providing access to psychiatry or therapy visits for you and your family in as little as 72 hours, conveniently from the privacy of your own home by phone or video
• Allow up to 90 days (previously 30) for both ICU daily benefit and inpatient physicians’ treatments
• Include an additional benefit for Outpatient Diagnostic X-Rays and Lab tests

There is no action required on your part.  Effective April 1, 2024, the policies you currently have with Wellfleet will be automatically converted to ManhattanLife and/or Allstate. The Wellfleet payroll deduction slot for these coverages will be discontinued and assumed by ManhattanLife and/or Allstate in conjunction with your employer. If at any time within the first 30 days of your new policy you wish to revert back to your Wellfleet policy, you may do so by contacting your UFCW Supplemental Benefits Hotline at 844-808-8009. You will be assisted in setting up direct-bill payment arrangements, with no further payroll deduction, to now pay your premiums directly to Wellfleet.
